Sarah Thorpe

Sarah Thorpe - IBCLC

I never thought I would be here. With a deep love of science and medicine, I used to think that things like doula work and childbirth education strayed too far from the evidence based world I had studied so much. I was wrong!

After a lot of reading, mentorship, education, and the birth of my two children: I’ve realized that childbirth education, breastfeeding and doula work does not have to be all or nothing. Like a lot of things in life, I believe most families (like myself) end up landing somewhere in the middle.

I believe there are many families that pull a little from both sides to find their best balance. Together, we can create a plan to help you achieve the experience you want from childbirth and feeding your baby.

Let’s work together to find the best way to nurture your birth and postpartum.

Tracie Abrams

Tracie Abrams - IBCLC

Tracie is double board-certified in nursing (BSN) and lactation (IBCLC). She has been caring for infants and children for over twenty years. She spent the first part of her career in a pediatric intensive care unit and the latter part in a postpartum unit. She currently cares for mothers and infants in an outpatient clinic, and in-home, assisting them with breastfeeding and infant oral feeding challenges.

She has the blessings of her own four children. Outside of work and the home, Tracie strives for ways to serve those who are underserved in El Salvador and Guatemala. She serves on the board and attends medical missions with Extra Mile Pediatrics, a non-profit organization committed to providing repeated care to children in areas where barriers to care exist.

“I’ve loved and gravitated towards infants since I was a child. The joy of having my own redirected my path towards helping parents at the start of their parenting journey. I understand the pressure a woman feels when they are starting this new skill of feeding their most precious gift and I’m honored to be there for encouragement, direction, and support. “

“I had a very difficult time breastfeeding. I honestly believe that I would not still be nursing today without her support and guidance. She empowered me to keep going and was available whenever I needed her in those first few weeks to listen, provide support and offer advice. Melanie is knowledgeable, compassionate, and caring. I cannot recommend her highly enough.”
